https://www.mominleggings.com/ijtk72pihIn 2012, following a pilot study in 2011, 43 multi-disciplinary and four specialist cinema organisations took part in the first audience benchmarking exercise for cultural cinema in Ireland. The research was co-ordinated by Theatre Forum on behalf of the Arts Council and Arts Audiences.
The exercise involved analysing box office data for the calendar year 2011 following which two separate reports were generated – one for multi-disciplinary venues and the other for specialist cinema organisations. Heather Maitland, who analysed the data, also conducted one-to-one meetings with each participating organisation focusing on the recommendations of the report.
