On Friday, July 4th, we were joined by this year’s Audience Development Programme Class as well as alumni from the two previous years.
This year’s class had the last day of their coursework and a case study with Alistair Spalding, CEO and Artistic Director of Sadler’s Wells who really struck a chord with the group, telling them of his own experience running a small local authority venue as well as the years he has spent reviving the fortunes of Sadler’s Wells and his experiences, both good and bad. The Class of 2014 are nearly finished- just assignments and final presentation ahead- well done to you all.
Alumni from the 2012 and 2013 classes enjoyed a workshop on dealing with the media in the morning, as well as having the opportunity to catch up and review progress on Audience Development Programmes created during the course with Univesity of Ulster Course Director, Janice Wright.
In the afternoon, Laurence Mackin, Arts Editor of the Irish Times, conducted a fascinating interview with Alistair in front of the whole group (and some invited guests).
