Arts Audiences and The Arts Council recently initiated a project aimed at building capacity in opera organisations around audiences.

Following a recent tender, a partnership of arts consultants Annette Nugent and Heather Maitland will be working with approximately four companies in 2014- bringing audience development expertise to bear on the area of opera in Ireland.

Audience development and marketing plans will be produced to assist the participants in meeting and exceeding their audience targets for their productions. The aim is to embed that expertise and allow for the ongoing evaluation of the success of interventions in this area.
A report will also be produced on ‘How to market an opera production in Ireland’
